  1. You are partly right and partly wrong about thongs in Fort Lauderdale. Thongs are totally legal in Fort Lauderdale, or anywhere in Broward County other than “John U. Lloyd State Park” at the North end of Dania, because it is a state park.

In Fort Lauderdale topless for women over 8 years old is technically illegal, and not common, but not enforced unless someone complains, and then it is just a request to cover up.

    • Hi, James. Thanks for the update on Ft. Lauderdale toplessness. I’ll fix that. I’d checked the Broward County ordinances, but not the city ones (since I’ve laid out on the beach topless there many times [with others, I might add], I guess I just assumed it was legal! Ha!). Regarding the thongs, I’m not sure what you mean when you say that I am “partly wrong” about them. I specifically mention just under the Florida name that thongs are illegal in state parks. Therefore, it’s not necessary to add that disclaimer to every single county listing in Florida.

  2. Excellent web site! As stated, thongs and female toplessness are allowed under Maine state law. However, some local municipalities have bylaws that are more restrictive. Both thongs and female toplessness are allowed on Ogunquit Beach. I verified this via email with the Chief of Police, and I took full advantage of the situation a couple of times in 2013.

  3. What happened to you on twitter? I got a kick out of how ignorant people are on twitter and the efforts you made to set them straight. Please think about coming back?!?!
